Democracy Gone Astray

Democracy, being a human construct, needs to be thought of as directionality rather than an object. As such, to understand it requires not so much a description of existing structures and/or other related phenomena but a declaration of intentionality.
This blog aims at creating labeled lists of published infringements of such intentionality, of points in time where democracy strays from its intended directionality. In addition to outright infringements, this blog also collects important contemporary information and/or discussions that impact our socio-political landscape.

New York attorney general asks judge to fine Trump for ‘frivolous’ legal arguments

NEW YORK — New York Attorney General Tish James asked a judge on Tuesday to impose $20,000 in sanctions on Donald Trump, his two adult sons, their lawyers and other co-defendants for their actions in a civil fraud lawsuit scheduled to go to trial next month.

Trump and his lawyers have engaged in “frivolous conduct” by repeatedly making legal arguments that courts have already rejected, the attorney general’s office wrote.
